Ca2+BOOST (Calcium supplement bolus for freshening cows)

Advantages:

*Fast Action: Calcium chloride dissolves and releases within 20min

*Slow Release: Calcium sulfate is slowly absorbed in the following 24h

*Natural Calcium: For rapid and sustained release of calcium

*Specially Designed Dosing Device and Wax Coating: Deliver bolus directly into the rumen of cows within 1min and allow dairy cows supplement calcium comfortably.

Introduction

99% of calcium in dairy cows is stored in bone. A large quantity of calcium is required for sustained contraction of muscles for long periods during calving. In addition, in a new lactating period, much calcium is mobilized from bone to colostrum, while the body can’ t quickly make up for the substantial losses of calcium in bone. Calcium deficiency is especially serious in high-yielding dairy cows and multiparous cows, who are predisposed to secondary diseases such as milk fever, abomasal displacement, retained fetal membranes, ketosis and mastitis, so measures must be taken to maintain calcium homeostasis.

Ingredient:

Calcium chloride, Calcium sulfate, Water, Monoglycerides (edible), Xanthan gum.

Mechanism of Action:

Prevention is the only option for managing milk fever and sub-clinical hypocalcemia. Oral Ca supplementation around calving is an effective strategy after calving. This Product helps freshening cows maintain calcium levels immediately after calving. A 195g bolus containing 45g of calcium in two forms: calcium chloride and calcium sulphate.

* Calcium chloride provides highly available oral Ca, and is available immediately.

* Calcium sulphate provides sustained release of calcium during the post-calving period.

* Both chloride and sulphate are associated with beneficial effects on Ca metabolism beyond the expected contribution of Ca absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract.

* A fat coating over each bolus helps protect cows’ throat.
