Recombinant Hydatids Subunit Vaccine

Main Composition and Content

The content of EG95 antigen from hydatid cyst≥50μg/dose. The content of Quil-A adjuvant is 1mg/dose.

 

Description

White spongy loose clumps and dissolve quickly after the addition of diluent.

 

Action and Use

For prevention of echinococcosis (also known as hydatidosis).

 

Administration and Dosage

Dilute with sterile normal saline according to the labeled dose. Subcutaneous injection in the neck region, 1mL per animal.

Unvaccinated sheep/goats with the Vaccine, boosted 4 weeks apart; Vaccinated sheep/goats with the Vaccine, boosted 12 months apart. The Vaccine can be used in pregnant ewes so that their offspring are of better immunity; Lambs acquire immunity by colostrum from vaccinated ewes. The offspring of vaccinated ewes should be first vaccinated at 16 weeks of age and revaccinated at 20 weeks of age; The offspring of unvaccinated ewes should be given two doses at 8 weeks of age and 12 weeks of age separately.

 

Precaution

1. Avoid direct sunlight. Used vaccines, empty vials and other utensils should be disinfected instead of being discarded carelessly.

2. Vaccines in broken vials or package shouldn’t be used.

3. Reconstituted vaccines that haven’t used up on the same day may be stored at -20 ℃. A maximum of 1 freeze-thaw cycle is permitted. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

4. After vaccinated with the Vaccine, sheep/goats may show signs such as depression, lethargy, slow action and increased body temperature, which are normal and will disappear after several days. Mild swelling may appear at the injection site. This is normal and the swelling will disappear within 4 weeks.

Don’t use in emaciated or diseased sheep and goats.
